The Violin Recital

Celebrating the Achievements of Your Child

At the end of the school year – typically in early June - we hold one formal recital in a concert hall. Every student is strongly encouraged to participate. It’s a big push to the end to perform well onstage. Every participant gets one rehearsal onstage with piano accompaniment a week or so before the big day. This affords them one week and another lesson to fix and polish their pieces.

The concert provides the opportunity for students feel what it’s like to be a lone soloist onstage in front of a large audience. They will be forced to cope. This will help them to function in many other pressure situations. The experience is terrifying at first but very gratifying afterwards. A medal is awarded to every performer.
